Karuṇāsītalahadayaṃ, paññāpajjotavihatamohatamaṃ;
Whose heart is cooled by compassion, who has dispelled the darkness of delusion with the lamp of wisdom;
Tôi xin đảnh lễ Đức Thiện Thệ (Sugata) đã thoát khỏi mọi nẻo luân hồi,

Sanarāmaralokagaruṃ, vande sugataṃ gativimuttaṃ.
The Teacher of the world of humans and devas, I venerate the Sugata, liberated from all destinations.
có trái tim mát mẻ với lòng đại bi, đã hoàn toàn diệt trừ bóng tối vô minh bằng ánh sáng trí tuệ, là bậc thầy của thế giới loài người và chư thiên.

Buddhopi buddhabhāvaṃ, bhāvetvā ceva sacchikatvā ca;
Having developed and realized the state of Buddhahood (sammāsambodhi),
Đức Phật đã chứng ngộ và hiện thực hóa Phật tánh,

Yaṃ upagato gatamalaṃ, vande tamanuttaraṃ dhammaṃ.
I venerate that supreme Dhamma, which is attained and free from defilements.
tôi xin đảnh lễ Pháp (Dhamma) vô thượng, không còn ô nhiễm mà Ngài đã đạt được.

Sugatassa orasānaṃ, puttānaṃ mārasenamathanānaṃ;
I bow my head to the assembly of the eight Noble Saṅgha, the true sons of the Sugata, who crushed the army of Māra.
Tôi xin đảnh lễ toàn thể Tăng đoàn (Ariyasaṅgha) cao quý, gồm tám vị Thánh đệ tử, là những người con ruột của Đức Thiện Thệ, đã nghiền nát quân ma.

Aṭṭhannampi samūhaṃ, sirasā vande ariyasaṅghaṃ.
I bow my head to the assembly of the eight kinds of noble ones, the Ariyasaṅgha.
Tôi cúi đầu đảnh lễ Thánh Tăng gồm tám bậc.

Iti me pasannamatino, ratanattayavandanāmayaṃ puññaṃ;
May the merit I have accumulated by venerating the Triple Gem, with a mind full of faith,
Nguyện cho công đức đảnh lễ Tam Bảo này của tôi, với tâm thanh tịnh,

Yaṃ suvihatantarāyo, hutvā tassānubhāvena.
cause me to be free from all obstacles by its power.
nhờ năng lực của công đức ấy, mọi chướng ngại sẽ được tiêu trừ hoàn toàn.

Saṃyuttavaggapaṭimaṇḍitassa, saṃyuttaāgamavarassa;
The supreme Saṃyutta Āgama, adorned with the Saṃyutta-vaggas,
Để làm sáng tỏ ý nghĩa của bộ Saṃyutta Āgama cao quý,

Buddhānubuddhasaṃvaṇṇitassa, ñāṇappabhedajananassa.
extolled by the Buddhas and their chief disciples, which generates various kinds of profound knowledge,
được trang hoàng bằng các phẩm Tương Ưng, được chư Phật và chư vị giác ngộ tán thán, và là nguồn phát sinh các loại trí tuệ.

Atthappakāsanatthaṃ, aṭṭhakathā ādito vasisatehi;
whose Commentary was originally recited by five hundred sages during the First Council for the elucidation of its meaning,
Bộ Chú Giải này, ban đầu được năm trăm vị Thánh Tăng kết tập,

Pañcahi yā saṅgītā, anusaṅgītā ca pacchāpi.
and later re-recited by others as well;

Sīhaḷadīpaṃ pana ābhatātha, vasinā mahāmahindena;
That Commentary was then brought to the island of Ceylon by the great sage Mahinda,

Samayaṃ avilomento, therānaṃ theravaṃsadīpānaṃ;
Without distorting the interpretation of the Elders who illuminate the lineage of the Elders,

Sunipuṇavinicchayānaṃ, mahāvihāre nivāsīnaṃ.
who dwell in the Mahāvihāra and possess excellent discernment,
những bậc có sự phân định tinh tế, đang cư ngụ tại Đại Tịnh Xá (Mahāvihāra).

Hitvā punappunāgata-matthaṃ, atthaṃ pakāsayissāmi;
I will clarify the meaning, having omitted what is repeated, for the satisfaction of good people
Tôi sẽ làm sáng tỏ ý nghĩa, bỏ qua những điều đã được lặp đi lặp lại nhiều lần,

Sujanassa ca tuṭṭhatthaṃ, ciraṭṭhitatthañca dhammassa.
and for the long endurance of the Dhamma.
vì sự hoan hỷ của người thiện trí và sự trường tồn của Pháp.

Sāvatthipabhūtīnaṃ, nagarānaṃ vaṇṇanā katā heṭṭhā;

Since all of this has been thoroughly expounded by me in the Visuddhimagga, it will not be discussed further here.

Since it was composed with this intention, you should take that (Visuddhimagga) also

Aṭṭhakathāya vijānatha, saṃyuttavinissitaṃ atthanti.
and understand the meaning related to the Saṃyutta, together with this commentary.
