Suṇātu me bhante saṅgho, ahaṃ bhante imesaṃ soḷasannaṃ nissaggiyapācittiyasikkhāpadānaṃ nidānādīni anekāni pucchitabbāni āyasmantaṃ vicittasārābhivaṃsaṃ tipiṭakadhara dhammabhaṇḍāgārikaṃ pucchiṃ, so ca puṭṭho puṭṭho vissajjeti, itihidaṃ bhante sikkhāpadasañjātaṃ nimmalaṃ su parisuddhaṃ tasseva bhagavato vacanaṃ arahato sammāsambuddhassa, tasmā yathā pure mahākassapādayo mahāthera varā porāṇasaṃgītikārā brahmacariyasaṅkhātassa buddhasāsanassa ciraṭṭhitiyā bahujanahitāya bahujanasukhāya lokānukampāya atthāya hitāya sukhāya devamanussānaṃ dhammavinayaṃ saṃgāyiṃsuceva anusaṃgāyiṃsuca, evameva mayampi dāni chaṭṭhasaṃgīti mahādhammasabhāpariyāpannā imāni sikkhāpadāni yathānuppattaṭṭhānato paṭṭhāya ekato gaṇasajjhāyaṃ katvā saṃgāyeyyāma.
Venerable Saṅgha, please listen to me. Venerable sirs, I have asked the Venerable Vicittasārābhivaṃsa, who is a Tipiṭakadhara and Dhamma-Treasurer, many questions concerning the origins and other matters of these sixteen Nissaggiya Pācittiya training rules, and he, being asked repeatedly, answered repeatedly. Therefore, venerable sirs, these training rules, arisen, undefiled, and very pure, are indeed the word of that very Blessed One, the Arahant, the Perfectly Self-Enlightened One. Therefore, just as in the past the great Elder Kassapa and others, excellent Great Elders and compilers of the ancient Saṅgha, recited and reviewed the Dhamma and Vinaya for the long duration of the Buddha's dispensation, which consists of the holy life, for the welfare of many, for the happiness of many, out of compassion for the world, for the benefit, welfare, and happiness of devas and humans, so too should we, now belonging to the Sixth Saṅgha Council and Great Dhamma Assembly, recite these training rules, starting from where they occurred, having collectively chanted them.
Kính bạch chư Tăng, xin lắng nghe tôi. Kính bạch chư Tăng, tôi đã hỏi Tôn giả Vicittasārābhivaṃsa, người thông thuộc Tam Tạng và là người giữ gìn kho tàng Pháp, nhiều điều cần hỏi về nguyên nhân và các chi tiết khác của mười sáu giới Nissaggiya Pācittiya này.
