Having paid homage with my head to the Buddha—
Đức Như Lai vô thượng,

The Tathāgata, unsurpassed, of endless compassion and wisdom—as well as to the Dhamma and the noble Sangha,
Vô lượng bi trí, đã đảnh lễ Đức Phật, Pháp và chúng Tăng bằng đầu.

Paṇḍukambalanāmāya, silāyātulavikkamo;
The one of incomparable valor, seated on the Paṇḍukambala rock,
Với dũng lực vô song, trên tảng đá Paṇḍukambala;

On the pure, cool surface of the king of devas’ seat;

Which the God of gods, honored by gods and God of gods,

Taught in the deva world, with devas foremost, that Dhamma—

Tatthāhaṃ pāṭavatthāya, bhikkhūnaṃ piṭakuttame;
For the proficiency of monks in the supreme Piṭaka, I shall set forth

Abhidhammāvatārantu, madhuraṃ mativaḍḍhanaṃ.
The Abhidhammāvatāra, which is sweet and increases wisdom;

Tāḷaṃ mohakavāṭassa, vighāṭanamanuttaraṃ;
An unsurpassed key for unlocking the door of delusion

Bhikkhūnaṃ pavisantānaṃ, abhidhammamahāpuraṃ.
For monks entering the great city of Abhidhamma;

Suduttaraṃ tarantānaṃ, abhidhammamahodadhiṃ;
For those crossing the great ocean of Abhidhamma, which is difficult to cross,

Suduttaraṃ tarantānaṃ, taraṃva makarākaraṃ.
Like a raft for those crossing the ocean infested with sea-monsters, which is difficult to cross.
Là chiếc thuyền vượt qua biển cả đầy cá mập khó vượt.

Ābhidhammikabhikkhūnaṃ, hatthasāramanuttaraṃ;
An unsurpassed aid for Abhidhamma monks, and
Là tinh túy vô thượng trong tay các Tỳ-kheo Abhidhammika;

Pavakkhāmi samāsena, taṃ suṇātha samāhitā.
I shall explain it concisely. Listen attentively to that.
