“May the Buddha, the One with Vision, accept it out of compassion for me;

Tato kāruṇiko satthā, orohitvā mahāyaso.

Then the compassionate Teacher, the greatly renowned one, descended.

Khi ấy, Đức Đạo Sư đại danh tiếng, đầy lòng từ bi, đã hạ xuống.

“He accepted my alms, the One with Vision, out of compassion;

Paṭiggahetvā sambuddho, akā me anumodanaṃ.

Having accepted it, the Fully Enlightened One gave me his appreciation.

Sau khi thọ nhận, Đức Chánh Đẳng Giác đã tùy hỷ cho ta.

“‘May you be happy, O greatly meritorious one, may your destination be successful;

“Này đại thiện nhân, hãy được an vui, nguyện cho đường đi của ngươi thành tựu;

Iminā bhisadānena, labhassu vipulaṃ sukhaṃ’.

By this offering of lotus roots, may you obtain abundant happiness.’

Với sự cúng dường ngó sen này, ngươi sẽ đạt được hạnh phúc lớn lao.”

“Having said this, the Fully Enlightened One, named Jalajuttama;

Taking the alms, the Conqueror went through the sky.

“Then taking the lotus roots, I went to my hermitage;

Having hung the lotus roots on a tree, I recollected my offering.

My body fell, but I rejoiced in the deva realm.

Serve me morning and evening; this is the fruit of the lotus root offering.
